“Malayka may be a newcomer on the scene but her voice shows a maturity beyond her years” – Ottawa Life Magazine
“Malayka filled the room with her incredible, multi-octave voice, accompanying herself on keyboards to a song that evoked the epic scope of Lady Gaga mixed with the artistic sensibility of Kate Bush. The emotion in her voice was spine-tingling.” – Lynn Saxberg, Ottawa Citizen
As seen on The Voice Middle East, singer, actress and speaker Malayka draws her musical inspiration and expression from her experiences as an Egyptian-Canadian, and bridges the gap between Western and Middle Eastern pop culture. Raised in Egypt and now calling Canada home, she has had multiple cross-Canada and Middle Eastern tours, opened for global acts such as Mo Amer, and has been invited to perform on CBC, Global News TV and many Canadian festivals such as RBC Bluesfest, Canadian Music Week and Megaphono Festival. Since the start of 2020, Malayka has hosted and performed for numerous online events and concerts, and has done so both independently on Twitch and on behalf of many multinational organizations including the United Nations, CanFitPro, Yalla Let’s Talk, Taste of the Middle East, and many more. Her newest album “Ayokay” can be found on all streaming platforms. Malayka is working on two new singles which encompass her message of self-acceptance, vulnerability, and finding your own voice.
